Interactive Digital Signage and Your Business

Interactive Digital Signage and Your Business

The world is changing. Technologies that were once thought to be nothing more than products of the imaginations of our best science fiction writers have now become a reality. One such device that comes straight out of the science fiction universe is interactive digital signage. This is actually just what it sounds like, but to give you a better idea of what we're dealing with, let's go over a few applications that can be useful to your business.

Interactive digital signage consists of a large touch screen display, similar to an HDTV, that comes in many different shapes and sizes. For instance, some are shaped like a rectangle, and there are others that are even designed to be display lengthwise. The sky is the limit when it comes to what is possible with these devices, and in the business world they are really setting the stage for new marketing paradigms.

For one thing, you could use the interactive digital signage to create a donor charge at a hospital. There was a time when such boards were made of wood and metal, lined with plaques, but as you can imagine (or likely know already), these types of displays are typically ignored and don't get much attention even when noticed.

With this technology at our fingertips, plaques of recognition take on a life of their own. People are actually drawn in enough to take a look at them and play with the touch technology, and when that happens, they usually end up being drawn into the information that is being presented as well.

In addition to that, it has become possible to set up a display that acts like concierge support. If you are running a hotel and need to provide your visitors with a way to see the different services the hotel has to offer, as well as any events that you may have planned, it can all be done with zero employee involvement. Not to mention that hotel guests can use the interactive sign to book events, sign up for different classes that may be available, and even buy merchandise.

Another way business owners area leveraging this new technology is for wayfinding. We've all seen the huge displays at shopping malls that use a map saying: YOU ARE HERE. Imagine if one could use that map to zoom in and look at specific stores or even make reservations for different products. This is the direction some of this wayfinding software is heading, and they provide a revolutionary step forward for any shopping establishment.

There are many different options available when it comes to digital signage—the only limits are really your imagination, and the methods of interacting with customers via electronic signage just continue to advance. This is the highest level of customer interactivity with the least amount of effort while providing a customer experience like none before.

Home Based Small Medium Business

A vital part of the U. S. economy, creating 80% of its jobs and accounting for nearly 40% of its private sales are the small medium business
. They consists of farmers, start up companies in high technology or micro-business entrepreneurs.

There are approximately 24 million small businesses in the U.S. And 6 out of 10 of the industries adding new jobs are small business dominated industries. Small firms hire a larger proportion of employees who are younger workers, older workers, women, or workers who prefer to work part-time. Small medium businesses also provide 67 percent of workers with their first jobs and initial on-the-job training in basic skills.

Developing small home-based businesses is particularly important to rural communities. Because of the limited availability of skilled labor, the development of large scale firms is prevented. Rural communities that promote new and innovative small enterprises can stimulate new employment opportunities and expand the local tax base, often contributing to each citizen’s quality of life. Also, when you’re at home your business will comprise whether you sell a product or you can sell a service. If you want to sell a service, look within. What are your skills? Are you proficient with a word processor? If so, you can consider selling your word processing skills. Remember, proficient means near perfect. I can use MS Word, but I could not sell it as a service.

Have you done bookkeeping or billing before? If so, this again, is something you can sell as a service. Are your kids older, in school all day? Consider an errand service. Perform a web search for errand services and view what others are offering and at what fees.

Are you an expert with a sewing machine? You can offer tailoring and mending as a service. I am only 5'2? and both my kids are 5'. We need everything altered. I would love to bring it to someone’s home versus having to go to the dry cleaner, change in their icky little bathroom etc.

Prefer to sell a product? You have a few choices, yes, only a few. You can make the product yourself. You can purchase from a wholesaler, or you can purchase from a direct sales company. That’s it, only those few choices.

If you wish to make the products, again, look within. What hobbies do you have? What crafts can you make? Some folks sell hand sewn or hand crocheted items. Some sell homemade soaps and lotions. Some sell homemade jewelry.

These are the many options you can do when you plan in a home base business. Plus, running a small medium business at the comfort in your own home saves you any amount of money
because you don’t have to pay for rent. Plus, you can control your time and if you’re a home maker, you won’t have to leave your kids.

Web Traffic Secrets For Your Blog

Inexpensive Web Traffic Secrets For Your Blog

You have built a great website. Everything is set up and you are excited about your online presence. A day goes by, a week, then two,and your traffic is just trickling in one or two visitors at a time. Your excitement turns to woe. What went wrong? Having a great website with good products/service and having virtually no traffic is like throwing a big party and having no one show up. Use the following inexpensive traffic tips and you will see the results you want.

Before you do anything else, use a keyword tool to research the right keywords for your site. What keywords are your competition using? Make sure your site is content uses the keywords your niche market uses to search. This will do two things. It will help improve your ranking in the search engines for these phrases, and it will get you visible to those you want to visit your site.

Once you have done your keyword homework and have your site optimized, the next inexpensive traffic secret is to make sure to add fresh content to your site every 3 to 4 days. Again, this keeps you in the engines and in front of your prospects. This point is the most inexpensive and one of the most important aspects of improving and maintaining your search engine rankings. Remember, if people don’t know your site is available they won’t visit.

Start a blog about your niche market. Make sure to write fresh content at least once a week. Let your visitors comment on your content, or even add their own. This will keep visitors coming back to your site to see what is been added.

Another inexpensive traffic secret is to write and submit articles to articles directories. These article directories allow others to use your content as long as you are given credit for the article. Your signature file is always attached to the articles. In your signature file, youll place links with strong call to action to your site.

Regularly submitting articles to the ezine directories will increase links to your site and help you establish yourself as an authority in your industry. Just as with a brick and mortar business, you must make your presence known on the Internet.

Many think that banner ads no longer work generating traffic to websites. Just look at some of the more prestigious sites on the web…and you will see banner ads galore. Several directories list websites selling ad space. The fees will vary depending mainly on how many visitors the site attracts.

Getting your site listed in directories relating to your industry is another inexpensive way to bring traffic to your site. If you are targeting a local market, also make sure to get listed in local directories.

These few inexpensive traffic secrets consistently generate website visitors. Some of these strategies may take a few months to increase your traffic. Others such as banner ads will generate traffic almost immediately.

15 Tips for business development

Tips for business development

Most companies believe that business development is easy. They couldn't be more wrong.
In these trying economic times, more and more workers are called up to perform more and more tasks. Once upon the time, companies had the financial luxury of having a CEO, CFO, VP Marketing, VP Business Development, Marcom, etc. Now, with layoffs, firings and the like, fewer people are performing more tasks. Gone of the days where companies have an experienced executive to handle one specific duty. Typically, the VP Business Development (BizDev) is one of the first to be fired. His/her duties are then taken up by either the CEO or the VP Marketing. I personally believe that this is a big mistake as bu siness development – if done properly – can be the key to the future success of any company. But, I digress. Why is the VP BizDev the first to go? Most companies believe that business development is basically easy. But they are wrong.
Proper business development is more than just running around trying to drum up new business. You need to be creative, have a thorough understanding of the company’s product, technology, market and competition. You must be highly focused and have the ability to both open doors and close deals.
Today’s Enable is designed to help those of you new to business development area. We provide you with 14 business development tips taken from two different sources. The first eight tips come from iSherpa Capital, a venture capital firm focused on wireless and supporting technologies, and the last six which focus on the partnering aspect of business development come from Chavando Group International, a provider of strategic financial, due diligence and venture capital services.
14 Business Development Tips
  1. Identify the appropriate market and target the appropriate segments within the market -- Deep pockets; ability to leverage core product from one segment to another without major design/development changes.
  2. Make sure there exists a market problem/pain that currently demands a solution. Is the problem large enough to justify the price of your solution? Is someone with P/L responsibility willing to pay for the solution? Test: Are you able to clearly delineate a value proposition that gets a customer’s attention?
  3. Solve the customers problem, don’t just build cool technology. Value is always in the application of the technology, not technology per se
  4. Have a clear understanding of your value chain. Know who are your partners, competitors, and customers – it isn't always obvious
  5. Understand where you are in the market cycle, from a timing perspective: new technology, competitors entering, segmentation, consolidation, solutions offering, commoditized, etc.
  6. Don’t fight the market and where it is in its life cycle – you will lose
  7. Price based on value of solution, not to undercut competitors. Compete first on functionality, not price. If you truly are the only one solving the customer’s problem, you should be able to price your offering based on value of your product/solution to the customer You compete on price only after the product/solution has become a commodity – end of the life cycle
  8. Techies should never hire sales people; they don’t know what skill-sets and personality traits to look for. Test: If it's someone who is too aggressive and a person techies don't want to hang out with, it's probably a good sales guy
  9. Identify the end user of your product or service before you start thinking about Business Development. Even if you do not sell directly to the end users, you should know as much as possible about them. Don't be fooled by the misconception that your target market is "everybody".
  10. Write a detailed plan of action. Prioritize your opportunities and consider partnering with proven and profitable businesses first. It is very common to see announcements of strategic alliances between companies with so-called "ideas" and not solid business models. Don't invest much time talking to your suppliers or companies you have to pay money to. It is their job to give you the best deal. Always assign a monetary value to the deal before exploring it. Form alliances with companies that will bring you revenue first.
  11. Learn as much as you can about the potential partner and their competitors before you contact them. Determine how your deal can make your partner's company more profitable. That is, list all the ways in which your proposed joint agreement adds value your partner's business. What holes does it fill in your partner's product/service line? How does the deal enhance your partner company's core business? How will your product attract more customers to your partner company's business? How does "doing the deal" brace your partner against the trends of the industry, for which they might otherwise be unprepared?
  12. Identify the personal issues. What are the personalities of the people who will be influential in the decision to sign the agreement? What are their personal motivations? Growth/expansion? Hot buttons? Family? Loyalty and commitment to the company they represent? Business process simplification? Eventual merger/acquisition?
  13. Identify the PR potential of the joint agreement. Why is it hot news? To whom, in particular? How can you leverage these PR possibilities in negotiating the deal? How do they add value to the overall equation? Be careful in announcing so-called "strategic alliances" where only a purchase of equipment or services was made.
  14. To insure that the partnership will successfully evolve, commit the necessary resources to insure that the deal is implemented and periodically evaluated. Set guidelines and performance metrics as part of the deal. Involve senior management in every step of the way. Assign a single point of accountability for the deal.
  15. Business development is much more than simply going to trade shows and being a wheeler dealer. Business development is hard work and you must stay focused on the long term. Hopefully the above tips will help you whether you are experienced in biz dev or if the role of business development was thrust upon you due to layoffs, firings or other factors.

Surah Al Nasr (Tafsir Ibn Kashir)

The Virtues of Surah An-Nasr
It has been mentioned previously that

- it (Surah An-Nasr) is equivalent to one-fourth of the Qur'an and that

- Surah Az-Zalzalah is equivalent to one-fourth of the Qur'an.

An-Nasa'i recorded from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah that Ibn Abbas said to him,

"O Ibn `Utbah! Do you know the last Surah of the Qur'an that was revealed''

He answered,

"Yes,

When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest. (110:1)''

He (Ibn Abbas) said, "You have spoken truthfully.''

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

110.1 When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest.

110.2 And you see that the people enter Allah's religion in crowds.

110.3 So, glorify the praises of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.

This Surah informs of the Completion of the Life of Allah's Messenger

Al-Bukhari recorded from Ibn Abbas that he said, "Umar used to bring me into the gatherings with the old men of (the battle of) Badr. However, it was as if one of them felt something in himself (against my attending). So he said,

`Why do you (`Umar) bring this (youth) to sit with us when we have children like him (i.e., his age)'

So `Umar replied, `Verily, he is among those whom you know.`

Then one day he called them and invited me to sit with them, and I do not think that he invited me to be among them that day except to show them. So he said,

`What do you say about Allah's statement, (When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest.)'

Some of them said,

`We were commanded to praise Allah and seek His forgiveness when He helps us and gives us victory.'

Some of them remained silent and did not say anything.

Then he (Umar) said to me, `Is this what you say, O Ibn `Abbas'

I said, `No.'

He then said, `What do you say'

I said,

`It was the end of the life of Allah's Messenger that Allah was informing him of.

Allah said,

When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest.

which means, that is a sign of the end of your life.

So, glorify the praises of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.'

So, Umar bin Al-Khattab said,

`I do not know anything about it other than what you have said.'''

Al-Bukhari was alone in recording this Hadith.

Imam Ahmad recorded from Ibn Abbas that he said,

"When إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ (When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest.) was revealed, the Messenger of Allah said, نُعِيَتْ إِلَيَّ نَفْسِي My death has been announced to me. And indeed he died during that year.''

Ahmad was alone in recording this Hadith.

Al-Bukhari recorded that Aishah said,

"The Messenger of Allah used to say often in his bowing and prostrating, سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي (Glory to You, O Allah, our Lord, and praise be to You. O Allah, forgive me.) He did this as his interpretation of the Qur'an (i.e., showing its implementation).''

The rest of the group has also recorded this Hadith except for At-Tirmidhi.

Imam Ahmad recorded from Masruq that Aishah said,

"The Messenger of Allah used to often say towards the end of his life, سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْه Glory to Allah, and praise be unto Him. I seek Allah's forgiveness and I repent to Him.

And he said,

Verily, my Lord has informed me that I will see a sign in my Ummah and He has commanded me that when I see it, I should glorify His praises and seek His forgiveness, for He is the One Who accepts repentance. And indeed I have seen it (i.e., the sign.

When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest (Al-Fath).

And you see that the people enter Allah's religion in crowds.

So glorify the praises of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.''

Muslim also recorded this Hadith.

The meaning of Al-Fath here is the conquest of Makkah, and there is only one view concerning it. For indeed the different areas of the Arabs were waiting for the conquest of Makkah before they would accept Islam. They said,

"If he (Muhammad is victorious over his people, then he is a (true) Prophet.''

So when Allah gave him victory over Makkah, they entered into the religion of Allah (Islam) in crowds. Thus, two years did not pass (after the conquest of Makkah) before the peninsula of the Arabs was laden with faith. And there did not remain any of the tribes of the Arabs except that they professed (their acceptance) of Islam. And all praise and blessings are due to Allah.

Al-Bukhari recorded in his Sahih that `Amr bin Salamah said,

"When Makkah was conquered, all of the people rushed to the Messenger of Allah to profess their Islam. The various regions were delaying their acceptance of Islam until Makkah was conquered. The people used to say,

`Leave him and his people alone. If he is victorious over them he is a (true) Prophet.'''

We have researched the war expedition for conquest of Makkah in our book As-Surah. Therefore, whoever wishes he may review it there.

And all praise and blessings are due to Allah. Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu `Ammar that a neighbor of Jabir bin `Abdullah told him,

"I returned from a journey and Jabir bin `Abdullah came and greeted me. So I began to talk with him about the divisions among the people and what they had started doing. Thus, Jabir began to cry and he said, `I heard the Messenger of Allah saying,

Verily, the people have entered into the religion of Allah in crowds and they will also leave it in crowds.''

This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah An-Nasr, and all praise and blessings are due to Allah.

How the Google Nexus One Stacks Up

Does the so-called "Google Phone" measure up against the iPhone, Droid, and other leading smartphones?
by Sean Ludwig
Tuesday's announcement of the Google Nexus One smartphone wasn't a shocker, but the phone itself has some great new features and is in a good position to become the top Android device just months after the Motorola Droid took over that spot. The Nexus One's specs are appealing, with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, an amazing screen that is similar to the Droid's, and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. Google's Nexus One is also the first device to run Android 2.1 software, which adds features like new home screen panels and interactive wallpaper.

So how does the Nexus One measure up to the other big-name smartphones out there? We'll compare the Nexus One to the Motorola Droid, Apple iPhone 3GS, Motorola CLIQ, and the Palm Pre, four of the highest-rated and most-buzzed about smartphones of the last year. We'll show how the Nexus One's specs compare in terms of network, OS, display, processor, and camera. Of course, final judgments will have to wait until we've had a chance to test the unit.

Network
The Nexus One can be purchased on contract from T-Mobile immediately and will be available for Verizon Wireless in the spring. This is the first time such a heavyweight smartphone has been offered on two simultaneous U.S. networks so quickly, and it's a peculiar (and welcome) example of choice for the consumer. The Nexus One can also be purchased unlocked, and you can use a T-Mobile or AT&T SIM card to get service. (Keep in mind, however, that because of supported frequency bands, unlocked Nexus Ones will be compatible with T-Mobile's 3G network, but not AT&T's.) While T-Mobile had its share of publicity problems in 2009, the service is known for good pricing and customer service. T-Mobile is going to be the first with HSPA+ data, so CLIQ and Nexus One owners who can get 3G service from the carrier should be able to enjoy noticeably faster data speeds before other carriers.

By comparison, the iPhone's biggest problem is arguably that it's only on AT&T, which has a reputation for dropped calls and unreliable service. The Pre is on Sprint, which continues to be a fairly reliable option for 3G service and coverage. The Droid has the advantage of being tied exclusively to Verizon—a feather in its cap because of Verizon's trustworthy service. When it comes to the network, Google's Nexus One trails the Droid at the moment, but when it adds Verizon in the spring, the Nexus One looks set to have the most attractive options.

Operating System
The Nexus One has a real edge when it comes to the OS. Android 2.1 is, not surprisingly, better than the Motorola Droid's Android 2.0. And it's light years ahead of the Motorola CLIQ's Android 1.5, which feels dated even with its MotoBlur extras.

As for whether Android 2.1 is better than the iPhone's 3.1 OS, that's a matter of personal preference. Each has its own feel—Android more customizable, iPhone more streamlined. Two of the biggest differences are that Android can run several third-party apps simultaneously—not the iPhone. Android also allows for more customization of home screens than the iPhone. On the other side, the latest iPhone OS has an onboard video editor and a simpler-to-use interface.

Palm's webOS is another beast altogether. Its innovative and fun interface features "cards", where each program is a card you can pull out, cycle through, and discard as needed. Plus, you can run multiple apps simultaneously. Sadly, Palm's Pre isn't powerful enough to fully realize webOS without bits of sluggishness, especially with multiple apps running.

Display
The Nexus One has a 3.7-inch, 480-by-800-pixel AMOLED display. The Droid has a similar 3.7-inch 480-by-854-pixel touch screen, but it won't be quite as vibrant because it's not AMOLED. We absolutely love the Droid's screen, so we'll give the Nexus One equal billing because they are comparable. The iPhone's bright 3.5-inch, 320-by-480-pixel screen is good, but not Droid or Nexus One good. The CLIQ and Pre's 3.1-inch, 320-by-480-pixel touch screens are just a little too small for comfort, especially when compared to their smartphone competitors. The Nexus One ties the Droid when it comes to screen specs, until we have to time test the units side-by-side.

Processor
Being Google must have some serious perks. The Nexus One is only the second smartphone, after the HTC HD2, to be equipped with the powerful 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, the fastest processor yet to run on a phone. Most analysts have noted that the processor makes a big difference and makes Android run very smoothly. The Droid runs well too, but its ARM Cortex-A8 is now a generation behind. The iPhone and Pre both run ARM Cortex-A8 processors as well, so count them slightly behind the curve now too. And the CLIQ's 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, which is responsible for its occasional sluggishness, is now two generations behind. The Nexus One is the clear winner when it comes to processor specs.

Camera
The Nexus One features a 5-megapixel camera with a LED flash and can capture video at 720-by-480 pixels at a minimum of 20 frames per second. The Droid has a 5-megapixel camera with flash and can take videos at the same resolution with 25 frames per second. The iPhone's 3-megapixel camera doesn't quite compare, but videos on the iPhone are 640 by 480 pixels and 30 frames per second, which are probably in the same class as the Nexus One and Droid. And the Pre's 3-megapixel camera works fine, but lacks in options and doesn't record video. The Droid has a slight edge in terms of camera specs—actual performance is another matter, of course. Stay tuned for our tests.

Al Masad (Tafsir Ibn Kashir)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
111:1 Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab and perish he!

111:2 His wealth and his children will not benefit him!

111:3 He will enter a Fire full of flames!

111:4 And his wife too, who carries wood.

111:5 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad.

The Reason for the Revelation of this Surah and the Arrogance of Abu Lahab toward the Messenger of Allah

Al-Bukhari recorded from Ibn Abbas that;

The Prophet went out to the valley of Al-Batha and he ascended the mountain. Then he cried out, يَا صَبَاحَاه O people, come at once! So the Quraysh gathered around him. Then he said,

If I told you all that the enemy was going to attack you in the morning, or in the evening, would you all believe me?

They replied, "Yes.''

Then he said,

Verily, I am a warner (sent) to you all before the coming of a severe torment.

Then Abu Lahab said,

"Have you gathered us for this! May you perish!''

Thus, Allah revealed,

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab and perish he! to the end of the Surah.

In another narration it states that he stood up dusting of his hands and said,

"Perish you for the rest of this day! Have you gathered us for this''

Then Allah revealed,

The first part is a supplication against him and the second is information about him.

This man Abu Lahab was one of the uncles of the Messenger of Allah. His name was Abdul-Uzza bin Abdul-Muttalib. His surname was Abu Utaybah and he was only called Abu Lahab because of the brightness of his face. He used to often cause harm to the Messenger of Allah. He hated and scorned him and his religion.

Imam Ahmad recorded from Abu Az-Zinad that;

a man called Rabi`ah bin Abbad from the tribe of Bani Ad-Dil, who was a man of pre-Islamic ignorance who accepted Islam, said to him, "I saw the Prophet in the time of pre-Islamic ignorance in the market of Dhul-Majaz and he was saying,

O people! Say there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and you will be successful.

The people were gathered around him and behind him there was a man with a bright face, squint (or cross) eyes and two braids in his hair. He was saying,

"Verily, he is an apostate (from our religion) and a liar!''

This man was following him (the Prophet) around wherever he went. So, I asked who was he and they (the people) said,

"This is his uncle, Abu Lahab.''

Ahmad also recorded this narration from Surayj, who reported it from Ibn Abu Az-Zinad, who reported it from his father (Abu Zinad) who mentioned this same narration.

However in this report, Abu Zinad said,

"I said to Rabi`ah, `Were you a child at that time!'

He replied,

`No. By Allah, that day I was most intelligent, and I was the strongest blower of the flute (for music).'''

Ahmad was alone in recording this Hadith.

Concerning Allah's statement,

His wealth and his children (Kasab) will not benefit him!

Ibn Abbas and others have said, وَمَا كَسَبَ and his children (Kasab) will not benefit him!

"Kasab means his children.''

A similar statement has been reported from Aishah, Mujahid, Ata', Al-Hasan and Ibn Sirin.

It has been mentioned from Ibn Masud that when the Messenger of Allah called his people to faith, Abu Lahab said,

"Even if what my nephew says is true, I will ransom myself (i.e., save myself) from the painful torment on the Day of Judgement with my wealth and my children.''

(His wealth and his children will not benefit him!)

Then Allah says,

He will enter a Fire full of flames!

meaning, it has flames, evil and severe burning.

The Destiny of Umm Jamil, the Wife of Abu Lahab

Allah also says,

And his wife too, who carries wood.

His wife was among the leading women of the Quraysh and she was known as Umm Jamil. Her name was Arwah bint Harb bin Umayyah and she was the sister of Abu Sufyan. She was supportive of her husband in his disbelief, rejection and obstinacy. Therefore, she will be helping to administer his punishment in the fire of Hell on the Day of Judgement.

Thus, Allah says,

Who carries wood. In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad.

meaning, she will carry the firewood and throw it upon her husband to increase that which he is in (of torment), and she will be ready and prepared to do so.

In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad. Mujahid and Urwah both said,

"From the palm fiber of the Fire.''

Al-Awfi narrated from Ibn Abbas, Atiyah Al-Jadali, Ad-Dahhak and Ibn Zayd that;

she used to place thorns in the path of the Messenger of Allah.

Al-Jawhari said,

"Al-Masad refers to fibers, it is also a rope made from fibers or palm leaves.

It is also made from the skins of camels or their furs.

It is said (in Arabic) Masadtul-Habla and Amsaduhu Masadan, when you tightly fasten its twine.''

In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad.

"This means a collar of iron.''

Don't you see that the Arabs call a pulley cable a Masad.

A Story of Abu Lahab's Wife harming the Messenger of Allah

Ibn Abi Hatim said that his father and Abu Zurah both said that Abdullah bin Az-Zubayr Al-Humaydi told them that Sufyan informed them that Al-Walid bin Kathir related from Ibn Tadrus who reported that Asma' bint Abi Bakr said,

"When تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ (Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab and perish he!) was revealed, the one-eyed Umm Jamil bint Harb came out wailing, and she had a stone in her hand. She was saying,

`He criticizes our father, and his religion is our scorn, and his command is to disobey us.'

The Messenger of Allah was sitting in the Masjid (of the Ka`bah) and Abu Bakr was with him. When Abu Bakr saw her he said,

`O Messenger of Allah! She is coming and I fear that she will see you.'

The Messenger of Allah replied, Verily, she will not see me.

Then he recited some of the Qur'an as a protection for himself.

This is as Allah says,

And when you recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who believe not in the Hereafter, an invisible veil. (17:45)

So she advanced until she was standing in front of Abu Bakr and she did not see the Messenger of Allah.

She then said,

`O Abu Bakr! Verily, I have been informed that your friend is making defamatory poetry about me.'

Abu Bakr replied,

`Nay! By the Lord of this House (the Ka`bah) he is not defaming you.'

So she turned away saying,

`Indeed the Quraysh know that I am the daughter of their leader.'''

Al-Walid or another person said in a different version of this Hadith,

"So Umm Jamil stumbled over her waist gown while she was making circuits (Tawaf) around the House (the Ka`bah) and she said,

`Cursed be the reviler.'

Then Umm Hakim bint Abdul-Muttalib said,

`I am a chaste woman so I will not speak abusively and I am refined so I do not know. Both of us are children of the same uncle. And after all the Quraysh know best.''

This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Masad, and all praise and blessings are due to Allah.

Learning How To Market Your Blog Online

Learning How To Market Your Blog Online

By admin in Blogs & Podcasts

If you’re new to blogging then it can be confusing when creating your first blog.
For a blog marketing guru though, it’s really not that difficult, anyone whose familiar with blog marketing online will tell you it takes hard work, dedication and most importantly consistency.
For someone just starting out with their marketing campaign, it may seem like a lot of work with little or no immediate return, however, just know that marketing is something that you have to build.
You have to work on it and continue to market your blog.
There are many things you can do to market your blog and get it out there to be seen by the world, one of the most important things is to visit other blogs that are relevant to yours and leave comments.
Doing this gets your blog out there to readers of other’s blogs and in return can get you some new visitors as well as readers.
While all of this might seem confusing at first, after a while you will get the hang of it and it will make sense and fall in place.
Posting on your blog on a regular basis is another way to get new readers, who wants to read a blog that is never even updated?
Would you?
Of course not! So give your readers what they want with new content and give it to them often, post daily, weekly or bi weekly and be consistent about it.
This way your readers and visitors will know how often to check your blog for a new post.
You must know where your traffic comes from, knowing which search engines are directing people to your blog is extremely valuable as is identifying those which aren’t, find out which keywords are driving visitors to your blog too.
If you know all of this then use it to your advantage, write further content using the keywords that work for you and look at the areas where you fall down on search engine results that are sending visitors.
If someone leaves a comment on your blog, be sure to acknowledge it.
No one wants to have a conversation with themselves, and it will only take a brief moment to reply and let them know you appreciate them, otherwise if you have a section full of comments and you have not replied, chances are that you will not be getting many more.
The readers may even drop you off of their list of blogs to visit frequently as well, using your head and treating others as you would want to be treated is a big part of marketing.
Make friends with other bloggers, network with them and find out how they get so many visitors to their blog and what they do to keep them interested.
Exchanging ideas with other bloggers that are successful is a great idea and a good way to make friends. If you want, you can even become friends with other bloggers offline as well.
Use this to your advantage but don’t just take from your conversations though, make sure you share all your own blog marketing techniques with your blogging friends as well.
If you happen to be quoting an article from another source or blog, always be sure to provide a link back to the original, otherwise this is known as plagiarism and something that is looked down on in the world of marketing.
Stealing other peoples content isn’t clever and let me assure you, you won’t get away with it, you’ll get caught trying to pass someone else’s work of as your own when clearly it’s not.
This is not a good way to start off in the blog marketing world.
Blog marketing is a fantastic way to make an extra income and build an online presence letting people know you are there there.
Be patient, use these tips to drive people to your blog, as they become regular followers and you earn their trust you’ll be able to use your blog to earn yourself some money.

PPC ADVERTISING: HOW TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS “CLICK”

PPC stands for Pay Per Click – a popular advertising technique on the Internet. Found on websites, advertising networks, and especially on search engines, PPC advertising involves sponsored links that are typically in the form of text ads. These are usually placed close to search results, where an advertiser pays a particular amount to visitors who click on these links or banners and land on the advertiser’s web page.

In essence, PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top or leading position on search engine results and listings. Advertisers do this by buying or bidding on keyword phrases that are relevant to their products or services – the higher the bid, the higher the spot on the search results, the more the people will find the ad (and click on it) to go to their websites (this is why some people call it “keyword auctioning”). Advertisers would then pay the bidding price every time a visitor clicks through the website.

PPC advertising is also known under the following names/variations:

· Pay per placement

· Pay per performance

· Pay per ranking

· Pay per position

· Cost per click (CPC)

PPC advertising is usually done with the following standard procedures:

1. Setting up an account and/or deposit funds.

2. Creating a keyword list.

3. Choosing (and setting up) an account with a PPC search engine.

4. Bidding on the ad placement, including the search result words or phrases.

5. Writing out an ad copy.

6. Setting up the ‘landing pages’ for your ads.

7. Placing the advertisement in the search engine.

There are many benefits to Pay Per Click advertising, making it an effective way of promoting a business ‘online’. Some of them are listed below:

· Get launched immediately. PPC advertisements are implemented very quickly – they can go ‘online’ within an hour after winning the bid and paying for it.

· Obtain specific, pre-qualified, and quality traffic. PPC provides you with a quality or a well-targeted traffic. Visitors are narrowed down into ‘qualified’ people who are actually looking for specific products and/or services that you offer – those who are more likely to become a ‘lead’ (a convert) and complete a transaction (either by buying your product or subscribing to the service that you are offering.

· Widen your reach. PPC advertising provides additional traffic to your site, aside from the natural or “organic” search engines.

· Track your investment. PPC advertising makes use of a tracking system that will determine exactly who comes to the website and what they do once they arrive – the length of their stay on the site and the number of pages (including the actual pages) that they view. These are valuable tools in determining statistics such as return on investment (ROI), acquisition cost-per-visitor, and conversion rates (the percentage of visitors who are converted into customers or leads).

Below are some important things to consider when planning on a pay per click campaign:

1. Know your product. Take an inventory of the product and/or services that you have to offer (before anything else).

2. Stay within the budget. Determine your daily or monthly budget; and stay with it. This means keeping your budget in mind, avoiding bidding wars if possible.

3. Bid just right. Know how to bid right – a bid that is too high can exhaust all of your money, while a bid that is too low can make you lose that spot.

4. Watch the bottom line. Measure your profit margin against your spending or expenses. Know when to stop and terminate your PPC program – if you spend more on advertising but have little or no sales at all.

5. Find the right keywords. Decide which keyword phrases to opt and bid for. Do some keyword research, either by actually looking at existing search terms or with the use of online keyword suggestion tools, to know which terms are mostly used when searching for items that are related to your business. Focus on specific keywords, not on general ones.

6. Write effective ads. A good PPC ad is that which can persuade and move a searcher. There are several approaches to this:

· Discount offers

· Testimonials

· Celebrity/famous endorsers

· Money-back guarantees

· Free trials or sample offers

· Freebies

· Reverse psychology

· Major benefits (“Lose weight”)

· Direct instructions (“Click here”)

7. Maintain a professional-looking site. Your web content should be regularly updated and checked for spelling and grammatical errors. There should be no broken links or images. The website should be simple – designed in such a way that it will be easy for visitors to navigate and load. Include contact details to create a good impression among potential customers.

Done properly, PPC advertising can be an effective marketing tool that will maximize the return on your investment.

What Is Forex Trading?

What Is Forex Trading?

Forex trading or foreign exchange trading is a type of trading using the different currencies of the world. This type of trade takes place in the Forex market, known to be the largest market in the world. Over three trillion US dollars are being traded in the market on a daily basis. The forex market is also considered as the most liquid of the worlds many trading markets.

The forex or currency exchange market deals with the simultaneous selling or buying of different currencies in the world. It can be buying or selling a currency in exchange for another currency at an agreed rate. Trading in currencies usually takes place between two counterparts. It can be as simple as making a trade over the phone or through the electronic networks connected all over the world.

Forex trading, unlike trading on the stock market is not conducted by way of a central exchange. Trading of currencies usually takes place on the interbank market which operates like an over the counter market. There are instead main centers where currency trading operates. They are located in the cities of Sydney, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, and New York. This distribution of trading centers that covers the important regions of the world makes it possible for currencies to be traded in the forex market for a 24-hour period.

Trading in different currencies usually takes place between two different currencies in the world. This combination is called more commonly a cross. Trading can be done between the US dollar and the British pound. It can also be between the Japanese yen or the US dollar. Currency trading can be done on any other combination of the various accepted currencies of the world.

Just like any other form of trade, forex or currency trading also has its own risks along with the rewards involved. Taking part in currency or forex trading may require some knowledge as well as experience in or to achieve gains. When compared to other forms of trading in the world, forex trading is considered to be one of the most volatile. Rates between different currencies can change quickly in a matter of minutes.

The chances of getting gains as well as the likelihood of losing money are similarly high. Timely decision making is important in this form of world trading. It might appeal to other traders who are looking for quick turnovers for their deals. This type of trading may not be suited for those people who are looking after a stable but steady means of investing their capital.
